Things
to do
There's
plenty to do in the Florida Keys. You can enjoy the glorious sunny
weather, sunbath, swim in the pool in Venture
Out, or bath in the hot tub. You can swim with dolphins, view
them, stroke them, shake flippers with them and even give them a
kiss! You can walk through the forests of palm trees and greenery
to the Blue pool where you will see fish, turles, birds and lots
more wildlife.
The
Keys is also a great place for snorkelling and scuba diving and
you can take boat trips out to the beautiful reefs. You can also
hire a boat and go fishing or fish for crabs in local ponds! A holiday
in the Keys is a taste of pure paradise!

You
can cruise down the US1 Highway in a Mustang V8, open top with the
wind blowing through your hair. Another
attraction not to be missed in the Keys is the big Flea Market on
Big Pine open on Saturday and Sundays, but don't forget your suncream
as it get's very hot at mid-day!, Also on Saturday and Sunday
mornings it's worth getting up really early to go "Rummaging"
to pick all kinds of bargains at the many local Garage sales, yes
people just open up there Houses and sell of all kinds of things
they don't want anymore. It's fantastic! Just follow the signs and
you'll sniff them all out! Often people are practically paying you
to take things away.

Whilst knocking
about the Keys Steve is always stopping to check out this that or
the other Classic American. Steve loves Big Classic American cars
so much, he owns a 1959 Thunderbird, an 1958 Edsel (mad car) and
a 1960 Buick Electra Convertible himself, back in England, and boy
do we have fun in these cars!
Places
to Visit
The beach at Bahia Honda, reputedly the finest
outside of Hawaii, is wonderful. It is famous for Flaggler's railway
bridge, now derelict and home to osprey, who venture out of their
nest into dog fights with pelicans. And as the sun shimmered on
the sea we even saw the phantom shadow of a lone bonnet head shark
glide over the reef. Key West also has fine
beaches, even a nudist one (though we have not yet visited this
one!)

You
can drive up North to Homestead and the Everglades. There you will
be overwhelmed by the sensational wildlife, the fish, the birds,
the alligators. You just have to be careful not to step too close.
You can take a tram tour ride out into the Everglades or go out
on an Airboat. These boats can go pretty fast! You can also see
the alligator farms and enjoy snake shows, where you can hold a
burmese python or a baby 'gator' if you are brave enough!!!

Sunset at Mallory Square,
Key West
|
Key
West is just short a drive away. It is quite a place, with banyan
trees, Duval Street with many shops, bars and a great nightlife,
Hemmingway's House, where the famous Ernest Hemmingway used to live,
and of course Mallory Square! The atmosphere here at sunset is quite
something. You can watch the sunset and almost hear it sizzle as
it sinks into the sea, met with a round of applause from onlookers.
There are many street artists, fire jugglers and other artists and
stalls at this time of evening. You could even see a dog walking
across a tightrope! To top it all you can take a ride in a biplane
all around the Keys and you may even end up flying and landing the
plane!
